The upcoming American mini-series (8 episodes) produced by the streaming service Apple TV + by the bestselling lawyer and novelist William Landay of the same name. The novel became an event at the time of release in 2012, gathered a clip of literary awards as a mystical thriller. The writer’s work experience in the office of the prosecutor gives the characters of his novels a special vitality, and the fiction talent is a special attraction. The plot focuses on Andrew Barber, the deputy district attorney in the suburbs of Boston, who is supposed to defend his 14-year-old son, Jacob, from being suspected of having committed the murder. Barber has 30 years of experience in the fight against crime, composure befitting the profession, but all endurance is useless when the suspect is your minor son.
Director – Oscar nominee Morten Tildum (“The Imitation Game”, “Passengers”), script by Mark Bomback (dilogy “Planet of the Apes”). Starring Chris Evans, who is also a co-producer of the project. Young Jacob is played by Jaden Liberer – Bill Denbro from the Losers Club in the film adaptation of King’s It. The project was announced on September 20, 2018, the release date has not yet been announced. (Constance)
HBO channel, well-known screenwriter David E. Kelly and Nicole Kidman after successful in every sense of the “lady’s thriller” “Big Little Lies” will again join forces to create, hopefully, an equally exciting mini-series. This time, the show will be based on a female audience-oriented novel, Han Hanff Korelitz, “You Should Know”. The plot is this: a successful family psychologist practicing in New York, beloved wife and loving mother Grace Sachs (Kidman) is preparing to release his first book on marriage and relationships. A few weeks before this important event, her personal apocalypse sets in: the husband who may be involved in the murder disappears, and everything Grace knew about him turns out to be a lie. Being in the midst of a public scandal and experiencing a professional failure, Grace must collect her life in pieces. Having run diagonally over book reviews, I confess they are quite critical. But the fact that the novel adapts the very cool Kelly, capable of leveling the weaknesses of the novel, is encouraging. In addition, Kidman is always a pleasure to watch humiliation. Just kidding. In the series, which was shot by the glorious Suzanne Beer, the main roles are played by Hugh Grant, Donald Sutherland, Edgar Ramirez and Lily Rabe. (brune)
